The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Alburquerque, Bohol formally presented its proposed Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) 2025-2036, highlighting the municipality’s primary policy document that directs the long-term vision for sustainable growth particularly on the use and management of land resources, infrastructure development, community resilience while balancing economic progress, and environmental protection/conservation.
The presentation gathered municipal officials led by Mayor Don Ritchie P. Buates, Vice-Mayor Dagohoy N. Samar, Sangguniang Bayan members, MPDC Engr. Leila M. Café, EnP, barangay representative(s), sectoral stakeholders, and planning partners for the discussion of the proposed land use strategies that will guide the town’s development in the coming years.
Municipal officials emphasized that the proposed CLUP was crafted based on community participation in shaping the LGU’s future, noting that consultations with various sectors and barangays were conducted to ensure that the plan reflects the needs and aspirations of the people of Alburquerque. The plan aims to strengthen the municipality’s position as a progressive and resilient municipality while preserving its rich cultural heritage and natural resources, outlines strategies for urban expansion, agricultural protection, tourism development, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation considering Alburquerque’s coastal geography.
During the presentation, planners showcased proposed zoning maps and development frameworks designed to address the municipality’s growing needs in housing, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability. Stakeholders were encouraged to provide recommendations and feedback to ensure that the CLUP reflects the aspirations and priorities of Alburanons.
