The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sevilla headed by Mayor Engr. Emmanuel C. Caberte formally presented its proposed Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) on February 27, 2026 to the Provincial Land Use Committee (PLUC), sectoral representatives, and to other stakeholders concerned in a move aimed at strengthening sustainable development and responsible land management in the municipality.
The presentation highlighted the municipality’s long-term vision for growth, environmental protection, infrastructure development, disaster resilience, and economic sustainability as its plan is dubbed, CLUP 2025-2034 “A Risk-Informed Technology-Enabled Modern Paradise: A Self-Sustaining Agro-Producing and Eco-Cultural Tourism Destination”, which accordingly, was crafted by the very own collaborative efforts of the LGU personnel/officials and has been completed without assistance from any consultancy services.
During the activity, Provincial Administrator Asteria C. Caberte, being an inhabitant of Sevilla, welcomed the attendees of the meeting, and congratulated the LGU for coming up with the plan, and for making the presentation possible as scheduled. Moreover, planners and technical personnel discussed the municipality’s land use, population trends, environmental concerns, agricultural zones, tourism areas, and proposed development strategies while stakeholders were encouraged to provide feedback and recommendations to further refine the proposed plan before its final adoption and approval by the appropriate authorities.
Lastly, Vice-Mayor Juliet Bucag-Dano thanked the entire LGU team for the full support/ physical presence, and the same as well to the PLUC members for having been able to audience in the panel. She also expressed gratitude to the people who worked behind the crafting of the LGU’s long-overdue completed CLUP.
