The Bohol Annual Accomplishment Report for CY 2024 showcases our relentless drive to progress and improve the quality of life for the Boholano community. This stands as a testament to our unwavering passion and dedication in striving toward the realization of our common vision and goals, despite the challenges and setbacks.
Our efforts to reduce poverty have yielded significant results, brining the province’s poverty incidence down to its lowest level at 14.8%. Rest assured that under my leadership, the Provincial Government will continue to promote equitable growth, ensuring that no one is left behind. We will vigorously pursue and prioritize livelihood, social, and economic programs and projects in the 24 municipalities with the highest poverty incidence, fostering inclusive development for all. Our Gross Domestic Product continued to grow at 7.1% or an economic production equivalent to Php 171 Billion worth of goods and services. The newly established Bohol Island Geopark Management Council, operating under the Office of the Governor, is dedicated to preserving and enhancing Bohol’s unique distinction as the only UNESCO Global Geopark in the country. This initiative aims to protect, promote, and sustain Bohol’s rich geological heritage for future generations to experience and behold. The energization of the interconnection project between Bohol and Cebu has boosted the available power supply for Boholanos and improved grid stability. Our tourism industry has not only recovered from the post-pandemic downturn but is projected to reach a remarkable 463% increase in tourist arrivals.
The accomplishments and milestones highlighted in this Annual Report would not have been possible without the effective and unified collaboration of various departments and offices within the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh), national government agencies, private sectors, and the local government units through their respective local chief executives. The projects, programs, and activities successfully executed for the welfare of our fellow Boholanos are an attestation to the tremendous support from the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, formerly led by the late Vice Governor Dionisio Victor A. Balite, and now under the capable leadership of Vice Governor Tita V. Baja.
This Annual Report follows the format prescribed by the Department of Interior and Local Government, and is further organized according to the sectoral classification of the Regional Development Council (RDC), as follows: Economic Development, Social Development, Development Administration, Environmental Management, and Infrastructure Development.
