The Provincial Development Council (PDC) chaired by Governor Edgar Chatto held its Full Council Meeting last December 21, 2016 at the Bohol Tropics Resort, Tagbilaran City to discuss and approve the Bohol Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP), Integrated Natural Resources and Environmental Management Project (INREMP) and other infrastructure projects.
Atty. John Titus Vistal, Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (PPDC), presented the Bohol Spatial Development Framework and Map while Engr. Hermilo Arcaya, Deputy PPDC, presented the status of major programs in Bohol.
The PDPFP Sectoral Technical Working Group (TWG) Chairpersons also presented their respective sectoral development framework. Forester Samuel Racho, Head of the Bohol Environment Management Office (BEMO), presented the Environment and Natural Resources development framework while Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, Executive Assistant for Health, showed the power point presentation of the Social Development framework.
The Economic Development framework was presented by Ms. Ma. Fe Dominise, Head of Bohol Investment Promotion Center (BIPC), while Engr. Gabino Redulla, Provincial Engineer, discussed the Infrastructure Development framework. Atty. Vistal shared the presentation on Development Administration development framework.
In behalf of PENRO Nestor Canda, Forester Racho presented the INREMP proposed and ongoing programs and projects while Provincial Administrator (PA) Alfonso Damalerio II presented the proposed concreting of the JA Clarin Street to Corella and Binayran Road leading to Dampas District.
The PDC Full Council unanimously approved the Bohol PDPFP, the INREMP programs and projects and the proposed concreting projects in Bohol.
Meanwhile, Atty. Lucas Nunag, Bohol Provincial Tourism Council Chairman, shared the information that there will be a Bohol Toilet Summit in May 2017 to encourage all local government units (LGU), gasoline stations, restaurants and tourism establishments to put up world class toilets so that Bohol could keep up with its image of a primary eco-cultural tourism destination. PA Damalerio said that the LGU of Batuan, Pilar, Mabini and Trinidad will serve as the pilot municipalities that will be given priority in the construction of world class toilets.
The Kapunongan sa Bol-anong Organikong Mag-uuma (KaBoOM) representative encouraged the farmers through their respective municipal mayors to adopt organic farming systems.
