Public Private Partnership orientation workshop held in Bohol

Gov. Edgar Chatto welcomed Dir. Feriosa Francisca Concordia of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Center along with Ms. Diona Fe Falamig, Mr. Jhoel Jorda, and Ms. Michelle Condes also of the PPP Center who served as resource persons for the orientation workshop on public private partnership conducted on March 20, 2017 at the Belian Hotel in Tagbilaran City.

The governor said public private partnership is part of thinking outside the box in order to expand productivity frontiers for Bohol.

The workshop is an offshoot of the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) and NEDA push for the conversion of the existing Tagbilaran Airport into the Bohol Business Park, having been endorsed for feasibility study and implementation in the Regional Development Council.

The Provincial Government of Bohol requested for funding assistance from the PPP Center, through the Project Development and Monitoring Facility (PDMF), for the conduct of a Feasibility Study for the Proposed Bohol Business Park.

Following the teleconference meeting between Director Feriosa Concordia, Director IV of the PPP Center, and Atty. John Titus Vistal, Bohol PPDC, it was commonly agreed that an Orientation Workshop on PPP for the Province of Bohol be conducted as an initial step to discuss possibilities on how to go about the development of the Business Park.

Participants to the PPP orientation workshop were provincial, city, and national government representatives along with the business sector where the PPP Center director highlighted PPP as a way of empowering local government and tapping resource and expertise of the private sector in order to deliver services to people.
